Privacy, plainly.

Cheap Audiobooks turns documents and saved webpages into private reading and listening items. This policy explains the information used by the service and the Save to Cheap Audiobooks browser extension.

What the extension does

The extension has one purpose: when you click its toolbar button, it sends the current webpage URL to your Cheap Audiobooks account so that the article can be extracted and saved. It does not monitor every page you visit or collect a continuous browsing history.

Information we process

• Your Cheap Audiobooks account identifier, name and email address when you connect the extension.
• A revocable, save-only authentication token stored by the extension so you do not need to connect on every save.
• The URL and title of the active tab when you explicitly invoke the extension.
• Readable article text, metadata and an optional preview image fetched from that URL by the service.
• Operational information needed to complete the save, prevent duplicates, secure the service and diagnose failures.

How we use it

We use this information only to authenticate your account, save and display the requested article, prepare or deliver narration you choose, maintain the save job, and protect or troubleshoot the service. We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Save to Cheap Audiobooks’ use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use and transfer that information only to provide or improve the extension’s single purpose: saving the webpage you select. We do not use it for personalized advertising, creditworthiness or unrelated purposes. We do not permit people to read it except with your explicit consent for support, when necessary for security, or when required by law.

Service providers

Information may be processed by providers that supply hosting, account authentication, article extraction and narration. Premium narration sends the text being narrated to the selected speech provider. If parser recovery is enabled for a difficult page, the article text may be sent to the configured language-model provider solely to select the readable source passages. These providers process information only as needed to deliver the requested service.

Storage and retention

Saved articles remain in your private library until you delete them. Extension connection tokens expire after 30 days and can be revoked sooner by signing out of the extension. Pairing requests expire after five minutes. Authentication tokens are stored in extension-local storage; the server stores only protected token representations.

Your choices

You decide when the extension receives a page URL by clicking its button. You can sign out to revoke its connection, delete saved articles in the app, or stop using the extension by removing it from Chrome.

Security and changes

We use HTTPS, narrow extension permissions and scoped authentication to protect the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
